Now that the New York Mets’ season has come to an end, it is time to move onto the basketball season.
There are two New York NBA teams, but on this page, we only cover the real New York NBA team, the New York Knicks.
After a heartbreaking loss against the powerhouse Pacers in last year’s conference finals, the Knicks look to rebound with new head coach Mike Brown and win the Eastern Conference this year.
Since both Tyrese Haliburton(Pacers Point Guard) and Jayson Tatum(Celtics Forward) are both out for the season due to torn ACL’s, the Knicks now have a clear path to the conference finals if they don’t play bad basketball.
Mike Brown brings his unique coaching style to the Knicks, which has led numerous Sacramento Kings teams to the playoffs. He prioritizes his bench and making sure starters get their rest, which is the exact opposite coaching style of Knicks former coach Tom Thibodeau. Brown’s coaching style could start the beginning of an up and coming dynasty, or could be the end of a team that never reached their potential. It will be interesting.
The Knicks opened their season up against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday 10/22 and Mike Brown’s new coaching strategies debuted in the process. Star point guard Jalen Brunson played 34 minutes while bench player Miles(Deuce) McBride played 26 minutes, one is significantly better than the other but played almost the same amount of time. While people were questioning if this strategy would work, the Knicks won against Cleveland 119-111, which is a step in the right direction for Mike Brown’s Knicks.
I have to say, I am excited to see where these Knicks go this year. They’re playing with the same charisma and confidence as last year, but now instead of overworking the stars, Brown is prioritizing getting everyone included so that when playoff time arrives, everyone will be ready for a chance at the championship.
