Real Madrid has come out on top against FC Barcelona with a 2-1 victory. In on the biggest games of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham both scored for Madrid while Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez got their only goal in the match
Madrid started strong- Mbappe opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a clean pass from Bellingham. Barcelona tied it up a little later, but right before halftime Bellingham put one in the back of the net for Real Madrid with a tap in off a Vinicius Jr. cross. The second half had only a few big moments too. Mbappe missed a penalty that could have sealed the game for Madrid, and Barca Pedri got sent off In the late extra time match at the end receiving a red card. After that it was basically over and Madrid held on for the win.
This win means a lot for Real Madrid since it breaks their losing streak against Barca and gives them a big boost in the La Liga standings. The Mbappe to Bellingham connection looked good. They combined for the first goal and were Barca’s main threats that night.
It’s a tough loss that shows they’ve still got work to do if they want to catch up. It shows Barca manager Hansi Flick to not disrespect the ref in the prior match. Hansi Flick (the manager for the team and head coach) was sitting in the stands due to a suspension. So his assistant Marcus Sorg was in charge of the squad.
