What if you were resurrected in the far future where you become a super powered hero? What if you get to shoot evil alien races on many planets? What if you get to ride around on a speeder bike look alike and flying around to other planets by spaceship? If you like these types of games, then a great series to start is the “Destiny” games.
You may be eager to look into the game “Destiny 2,” but before looking into the storyline of the second game, you need to know the storyline of the first game. It all begins in the first game with you, the player, awakening in a dystopian earth by a small levitating artificial intelligence called a “Ghost.” It then takes you to meet many different races of people who called themselves “Guardians” and use the power of the light given to them by “The Traveler.” “The Traveler” is a being of great power who gives people the powers to fight evil aliens, the creator of the “Ghosts,” and gives the “Guardians” the power to defy death. After all of this, you become a “Guardian” yourself to protect the last city that keeps the people safe.
Now people wondered why start a new game if they kept adding downloadable content for the first game to give more story. The answer: to start fresh. In “Destiny 2,” the “Last City” was invaded by “The Red Legion,” a faction of an alien race. They destroyed everything and blocked “The Traveler’s” light making you and all other players lose their abilities and the power to be revived. Afterwards, you had a vision of a shard in the mountains. You and your “Ghost” field the city to find a shard of the “Traveler”. There you gain some of your powers back and with that, your game truly starts.
The game itself is mainly a first person shooter, with moments that switch to a third person point of view. The storyline is an interesting plot making you want to keep watching till the end, and not only is there a “level-up” system, but there is also an upgrade system and multiple tier systems that keeps the players intrigued. There are many different items ranging from weapons, armors, vehicles, emoticons, coloring, and other accessories, each player can be unique in their different ways. Finally, with many hard bosses and enemies, it gives players a struggle to win making the game not a pushover when it comes to missions either short or long.
With these reasons, it is understandable why this game became so popular, and with many expansions, it certainly is not boring and will keep people entertained for a long time.
