For many high schoolers, the months leading up to prom can be exciting and fun, but also extremely stressful at times. There are many things to be done to make sure you have an amazing night, and it can be helpful to get all your ducks in a row as soon as you can.

Your Outfit

After securing a ticket, the prom dress is usually a number one priority. Finding your perfect dress can take a lot of time, and many people don’t find a dress they like on their first dress shopping trip. Setting aside a weekend or two to visit lots of stores to try on dresses can be important in making sure you find a dress you love in time. Along with a dress, matching shoes and accessories can be bought on these trips as well, or you can wear things you already own. Another important item many people don’t think about is a clutch or bag, where you will store your phone, makeup, and money the night of the prom.

Your Date/Group

A lot of people go to prom with a date or with a group of friends, but it’s also fine to go alone. If you do plan on taking a date, it’s crucial to hand in their guest contract and get them a ticket before the deadline. If you’re getting a group of friends together, it’s also important to coordinate and make sure everyone is on the same page, especially if you plan on taking a limo or bus together.

Your Limo

Taking a limo or bus to prom has become a tradition in recent years, but it’s of course not mandatory. If you are planning on taking a limo or party bus, it’s critical to book it in advance. You should know how many people will be going in the limo, and make sure they are all comfortable with paying the amount of money that it will cost. You will need to provide the limo company with a lot of information as well, like the date, time, and place of the prom, and the pick up and drop off locations.

Your Beauty Appointments

Some people prefer to do their own hair and makeup, but others would rather get these done professionally. Hair and makeup appointments can book up fast, especially during prom season, so it would be smart to make these in advance.

Your Finishing Touches

As prom gets closer and closer, preparation increases. The weeks coming up to prom are often dedicated to doing last minute things to make sure you look and feel your best. For many people, this includes getting their nails done, eyebrows waxed or threaded, doing face masks, and working out.
