Pink, purple, blue, and lavender. I know what you’re thinking. This isn’t the color scheme for a wedding or colors for flowers. We’re talking about the colors we dye our hair.

Throughout the generations, people all around the world have found ways to express their personality by the way they style their hair. They could cut it a certain way, accessorize it with flowers, headbands or even jeweled barrettes, and in today’s day and age they may even color it any color they desire. There are two hair dye trends that have recently became popular in 2017. It’s no argument that 2017 has been a very colorful year for our hair. From natural to spunky, our eyes have seen it all. This year, the granny hair trend, also known as granny gray, has boosted in popularity. Ellie Goulding, Kim Kardashian, Pink, and even Lady Gaga decided to go gray on purpose. This trend has been around since 2011 but has only just picked and become popular once again. The trend is attributed to a French fashion designer named Jean-Paul Gualtier who had an autumn/winter show in 2011.

Granny gray hasn’t been the only popular hair dye trend throughout the year. Lauren Bowker is a visualisation scientist who has officially changed the beauty world for the better. Her project called “Fire” is what many consider magic. Lauren Bowker has invented hair dye that changes color when heat is applied. This color change is temporary and will fade after the temperature lowers back down. You could use heat from a flat iron, hair dryer, or even the heat from your own hand. When your hair cools down it changed back to the color it once was. The dye itself is also temporary and comes out with shampoo. PROVERA decided to call the product Vivid Moods Color and is available September 1st for a limited time only!
