Tik-Toker and Popeyes chicken supplier, Richardo Lane (@blackazzriq01) posted a video of inside one of the DC restaurant locations.  He recorded rats flooding the building and some scurrying into the kitchen.  As this occurred Land turned their logo against Popeyes by asking, “You still love that chicken from Popeyes?”

According to Inside Edition, the restaurant was closed due to a number of health code violations and extreme disgust from the public.  There are violations separate from the rats including, “openings in the kitchen ceiling and water pooled in the walk-in fridge, dishwashing area and manager’s office” (according to Black Enterprise). After the video gained traction in early November, Land created a GoFundMe to support himself after supposedly losing his job.  In the description he writes, “I have a family of 5 and due to this incident, my family will be hurt by my employer. I will not be able to afford rent, food, or any other necessities to keep my home. I ask that you beautiful people to please donate what you can and I will be ever so grateful from my family to yours. Thank you lovely people for the support on TikTok and I will follow every one of you back as soon as I can. God Bless You.”

In return, he acquired massive support and about $15,000 by the date of November 4th. This GoFundMe later gained $12,000.  Land at the moment is still suspended from his job.
