New York city just released plans and details about a new 780 millions dollar soccer stadium in Queens NY. 

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and the number of fans continues to grow, but in the United States it was never the most popular. Ever since the 70’s American football has dominated the sports industry in the United states followed by baseball and basketball. But soccer is on the rise in America. 

Over the past couple of years soccer in America has been on the rise with more viewers and more and more people playing. 

With that being said there is now a 780 million dollar, 25 thousand seat stadium that’s going to be built in Queens, NY. This will be the first of its kind in NY and will inspire many more stadiums and projects like this all over the country. 

This project isn’t just about the stadium though. It also involves a 40,000 square feet of open space that will be opened to the public. It will also include a hotel and a school. 

Lastly it includes 2,500 units of affordable housing. The mayor of NYC believes that this is a great idea and will help many families but it most likely faces backlash as the project progresses. 

This project and future projects like this could be a good thing for the economy and the people but also involve a lot of spending from the government that may not be good. 

It will be interesting to see how this project unfolds and possible sports teams that come along with the stadium.
